The Manitoba Driver’s Handbook is the source of the 30 multiple-choice questions that make up the written knowledge test in Manitoba. You will only have 30 minutes to finish the exam, and you must get an 80% or higher with no more than six questions missed. You must be at least 16 years old. Or 15 12 with a completed Driver Education Form, to take the written exam and begin the Graduated Driver’s Licensing Program with a learner license. You must register as a customer with Manitoba Public Insurance and then pay a $10 testing fee before you can take the written exam. If you pass, an additional $20 for your license and up to $45 as a base fee are required.

Additionally, you must be able to pass a common vision test, present identification, and, if you are under 18, obtain parental permission. You might be qualified to take your road test and advance to the intermediate stage of the GDL Program once you’ve held your learner license for at least nine months. When it comes time to test, your road test will cost an additional $30. Knowledge tests are by appointment only, and you can schedule one with your neighborhood Auto-pac representative when you sign up as an MPI customer. If needed, tests are available in 20 additional languages in addition to English and French.
